How to deal with the deformation in the production of precision cast steel

In the manufacturing process of precision cast steel, due to hardware facilities, management, casting cooling, correction and other aspects, the problem of casting deformation will occur. Then, when the casting is deformed, what should be done? Casting deformation is divided into: micro self-deformation, casting expansion deformation and warping deformation. Micro-deformation: In alloy materials, gray iron is prone to micro-deformation.

After the gray iron is cleaned by falling sand, the residual stress is mainly residual stress. In addition to residual stresses such as cold cracks and casting deformation, residual stress is also the main cause of micro-self-deformation. Even if the residual stress does not exceed the yield strength of the material, under its action, the gray cast iron will slowly undergo microplastic deformation, that is, micro deformation. Expansion deformation: The reason for its formation is that the sand core or sand mold at the opening hinders the shrinkage of the casting, causing plastic deformation of the free structure at the opening of the casting, resulting in flaring deformation defects.

Warpage deformation:

After the sand is cleaned, the casting appears warped at both ends, one end and even the outer side, which causes depressions in the middle of the casting and causes the casting to be uneven, which is called warping deformation. The main reason is: during the cooling process of the casting, due to the thick or uneven thickness of the casting during the cooling process, there is a temperature difference, so that the cooling rate of each part of the casting is different, resulting in uneven plastic deformation, resulting in warping deformation.

In view of the deformation of precision castings, this article mainly proposes four measures:

1. Before waxing, put the mold in the wax shooting room until the temperature of the mold is the same as the room temperature of the wax shooting room, and then start waxing; as for the post-shell making, the temperature of the wax parts does not need to be raised because there is no control Good or directly listed in the wax shooting room.

2. After the wax slices come out, they must first check themselves, mainly to check whether there is any deformation or other defects in the mold work; the wax slices should be placed neatly according to a unified placement method, and try to avoid overlapping and hanging; later shipments are recommended as far as possible Use jigs to check to improve detection speed and accuracy, and calibrate according to a certain period.

3. After the furnace is turned on, when the temperature of the modules is still high, avoid overlapping, and place them regularly, so that the deformation direction is consistent, and it is convenient to modify the fashion clip.

4. The jig for correcting castings should be made of hard materials, and the surface should be wear-resistant. For some parts with a larger area, the tonnage of the press or punch should be calculated reasonably to avoid equipment waste or insufficient strength.

Precision casting has a great influence on the performance of mechanical products. Poor quality of precision castings will seriously affect the service life of mechanical products. Once deformation and other problems of precision castings are found, they should be corrected in time to avoid affecting the performance of precision castings.
