How to control the shrinkage rate in precision casting
- 2021-07-07-

The shrinkage of Chengmao precision castings is a common problem. Different castings and castings have different shrinkage rates. The shrinkage rate must be measured before the production of abrasive tools.

The casting shrinkage rate refers to the intermediate deviation between the specific size and the shape size of the casting due to the shrinkage of the casting during the whole process of condensation and refrigeration. The key to the shrinkage size in Chengmao precision casting is: aluminum alloy composition, casting structure, size, mold material gathering, shell-making refractory insulation material, aluminum alloy liquid casting temperature, etc. Mold shrinkage ε=(L-L1)/L1×100% where L is the shape and size. The cast size is L1.

The shrinkage rate is the determining factor of the raw material, but the actual shrinkage will be different, which is determined by the shape and structure of the stainless steel casting. Example: A long-edged part as shown in the figure, assuming that the total width of one side and the width of the two sides are wider than the width, then the part cannot produce bending deformation when casting is taken when corresponding measures are taken, but it is not caused by different shrinkage rates. Therefore, Under normal circumstances, the part will not produce casting bending deformation, but there will be no shrinkage.

Casting shrinkage rate, also known as casting line shrinkage rate, refers to the percentage of the casting size that becomes smaller during the entire process of condensing and closing. Factors such as the type, composition, metal mold type, cooling standard, and structural characteristics of the casting itself are closely related to the cast aluminum alloy. Casting shrinkage rate=(final size of casting-shape size) / overall size * 100%
